I have a few boxes of Federal #7 Heavyweight that I plan on patterning soon. Can someone recommend a choke and constriction size? The shells are 3.5 inch 12 gauge. Thanks in advance for any help.

Welcome to OG. We're glad you're here.
The first thing I would do is to "deep clean" the bore of your 11-87 and try shooting a couple of those shells through the full choke (flush mounted) that came with your gun. I'd use "big paper" at least 3' x 3' to make sure your point of aim and point of impact match. I'd try one at 30 yards and one at 40 yards. You may not need another choke at all.
If the patterns don't look good enough to you, then you can start to look at some chokes but I'd try what you have first.
Thanks,
Clark
I shoot a Trulock choke made especially for Fed. Heaveyweight #7. i get 140-150 in a 10inch circle all day long at 40yds with the 3inch 1 5/8 oz load. In the 3.5 1 7/8 load i get 200-220 . This is in any of my guns 870 or 11-87. Call George Trulock he is a super nice guy to talk with. Lee
Thanks for the advice, I really appreciate it.

What constriction choke do you have?
It's a .650.
If you've got friends and fellow hunters that are also using Remingtons see if they mind letting you borrow a choke tube they have to see how it patterns in your gun. That way you'll get the results you are looking for without having to buy multiple chokes. Plenty of companies make good turkey chokes at resonable prices. Hevi-Shot, Truglo, Primos...etc
