Title: Williams "slugger" sights?
Post by: SCDieselDawg on January 21, 2013, 05:47:17 PM
Recently installed a set of the Slugger sights on my 870 Express Magnum with a 21" Barrel. When trying to sight it in I ran out of adjustment and am still shooting low 6-8 inches at 15-20 yards and even more at farther distances. Anyone know of a way to fix this issue.

Unless  I'm looking at the picture wrong, your moving it the wrong way. Raising the rear sight will raise the point of impact.

That's what I'm doing wrong. I've been spoiled by optics and this is my first time messing with rifle sights. Thanks for the help!!

I have the same issue with my 870 with an IC choke.  I am hitting 5-6 inches low at 40 yards.  I called Williams yesterday to see what I could do and they are sending me a taller rear sight , free of charge.  The have great customer service.  I spent nearly 30 minutes BSing with the technician that helped about turkey hunting, hog hunting and bass fishing!  Hopefully this solves my issue since these are very well  built sights.  I have literally had every model of Tru-Glo sights and they ALWAYS break!

It looks like you have it mounted on the lowest point of the rib. Slide it further down the barrell, where the other bead is.

The pic is a little deceiving. The rear sight is just in front of the section than tapers down, with a rib separating them. I didn't get a chance to fool with it today hopefully will be able to tomorrow.

Move the back sight forward about 4 inches.   :icon_thumright: :anim_25:
