Title: Response from Senator Casey, Pa.
Post by: CT Spur Collector on January 20, 2013, 04:09:21 PM
I've been writing my Reps & Sens since Newtown, as well as everyone should be. Toomey & Shuster wrote back respones that they will do everything in their power to protect the 2nd AD.

NOT Casey, from Pittsburg. His response was a flat out NO! His response was that even though he feels he wants to support the 2nd AD, Newtown was too much for him. The last straw.

He WILL be voting for an "assault gun" ban and a large capacity clip ban.

No suprise here, we tried to get rid of him this last election but if you don't live in Erie, Pitt or Filthadelphia, your vote doesn't count.

Keep writing to your Sens, and Reps. Don't give up.

If he supported the 2nd AD, he would vote no to the ban. You can thank the big cities in this country for electing individuals such as Casey.

It's sad that Philadelphia is a trashy town. It sure wasn't 200+ years ago. :(

Same thing in NY, if you don't live in NYC you get gun control crap shoved right down your throat because our reps in the legislature get out voted.

We the people of The United States need to start bring treason charges up against these elected officials. They took an oath to uphold and defend the Constitution Of The United Stated. They are NOT doing that and charges need to be brought up against them. We are not your subjects. You work for us. We tell you what to vote for. You don't tell us what you think is best for us.

You can bet I'll write him, again and again and again. He works for me, an honest American firearm owner who has NEVER broken a single firearm law!

Hey Spring, they give away the farm in 1776, you had to WORK for it!   one big handout in Filthadelphia.  the last POTUS election, some precincts had a 112% voter turn out!  How does that happen?  Out of 67 counties in PA. about 4 were blue! Even Cambria county, heavily Dem was RED!

Sad,sad,sad.........................I got to get back to writing letters.

Should be: "they didn't give the farm away in 1776."

Ya know, ive believed for along time that most of the scumb bags that are elected into office don't care if there elected out because they are going to live happily ever after on the tax payers dollar anyways,SAD.

Darn right Grizz. I support term limits now. Never did, I always thought the American people were smart enough to make the change at the polls. They are NOT. We need term limits.

Also just heard of a backdoor deal between Sen McConnell and Sen Reid to prevent a filibuster on gun control bills in the senate. Hey Kentucky contact Mitch, we're going to go down in a heap if we're not proactive on this one.

I just wrote my US Representative and she is in favor of the gun bans completely.
I am doing everything I can to let her know that she and her friends need to enforce the existing laws and not make new ones.

See, we should sit up and take notice. Talk to your friends and neighbors and let them know how important this is. Try to convince them to write and email their Sens. & Reps. Most important are Sens. The Dumbocrats rule there. Tell them, they stand to loose their cushy jobs in November.

Email works the best, you can send a quick note daily, they or their people read them.

Keep the pressure on. The squeaky wheel gets the grease.

Just a few thoughts about the situation and what's already been posted on this thread...

First,  while term limits sounds like a great idea,  we need to be careful because they could wind up being more dangerous as an out going senator or rep could push through whatever they wanted with no fear of reprocussions.
Imagine if we had term limits now and half of the politicians knew this was their last term.  You can bet a gun ban would pass with little problem.  But if a politician or even a party is worried about losing seats,  they know they have to be careful.

I've seen it mentioned several times how cities in a state can override and out vote  the rest of a state.  It happens in ny,  pa and md for sure and I'm sure it happens elsewhere.  What if areas of a state succeeded from their state to either make a new state or join a nearby state with similar political makeup?  The precedence has already been set with wv leaving va.  This would give the people more of a voice and not be drowned out by the cities.
