Ive always wondered how a copper soundboard would do under a glass or crystal surface.  Was it super raspy or did the sycamore mellow it out some?

Yes it is higher pitched nice and raspy ,, I did make two of them as the first one the wood just wouldnt handle the copper sound board so i reworked another pot and second time around it came out realy good  ,,The new owner said its what he was lookin for sound wise .
