I've been wanting to try my hand at wire inlay for some time. I had an idea make an Amboyna center section between Ebony with wire inlay between the pieces. I got a hold of some aluminum wire at a hardware store and the adventure ensued. This ended up being way above my skill level. I must have re-glued the wire five times. Doesn't hold a candle to Ralph Permar's corncob trumpet from Nashville last year.
The other trumpet is Kingwood with ivory and is headed to PA.

Absolutely stunning work Brian, now you got my mind working, I was thinking about inlaying gold wire shaped Arkansas Toothpick Knife on one of my trumpet barrells, I'll have to talk to ya about it at the Convention.....
