Title: Star Dot in BPS Invector Plus
Post by: rcpigg65 on January 08, 2013, 08:10:07 PM
Just located one on line and was wondering if anybody ever ran one in a bps . Mine is the 24" NWTF edition , about 10 or so years old . See a lot of talk about the star dot in the Mossbergs . Any body know what the constrictions is ? How about Hevi Shot ?

I have one.  Its .668 in inv. +.   It shot pretty good but not as good as my .670 kicks and my .682 Sumtoy.

Thanks , still undecided about it , my gun still patterns best with a 665 carlsons over pure gold or kicks hesitant to buy another high dollar choke when i dont see any benefits . Thinking if i spend the money this season i will try Hevi shot or maybe call sumtoy . I see the Hevi Shot is a 664 but i think Carlsons makes this choke .

If they are asking more that $40 for the Star Dot in an Invector Plus then I would say pass it up.  I have heard it does decent in them but not like they do in the Mossbergs.  Good luck!

Clark , I looked at the SSX , 643 thats a lot tighter than I have tried before . Will that be good for lead 6's or 5's as well as the hevi's? I have several boxes of the hevi 6's and 7's. would be willing to go to hevi only with that choke if necessary .

Put a 675 to 680 in it and let it ride.  IC I think say 665 to 675.  PG from what I see 670.  Keep it  :smiley-patriotic-flagwaver-an

I have an INV+ Star Dot for my 28" Barrelled, 3" Chambered BPS.

It throws beautiful 35 yard patterns.  Nice even 13"-15" of coverage at 35 yards.

But 10" circles at 40 yards?  My INV+ Indian Creek .665 BDS SS choke clobbers it with every single load I've tried, both Lead and HTL.
