As it looks like right now, I'm hunting Kansas and season 2 in Iowa, and probably season 4 in Iowa. Would like to hit Nebraska or Missouri, but just don't see that working out this year. What are you guys planning>
I will be hunting my home state of North Carolina this year. I maybe get to hunt Alabama this year too.
Keeping it low key this year. WI, SC, MN, SD and NE
I will definitely hunt my usual IL & MO but if the work schedule allows it I will hit TN & KY again this year as well and whatever other road trip anyone wants to make across the country... :funnyturkey:

What part of the state in Missouri do you hunt. CSAW is a Missouri boy, and someday I'd like to find some ground to hunt in the NW part of the state. Next year I should be retired, and would like to add Missouri to my list. Hopefully by then they drop that 1pm closing thing.
I'm hunting the home state, AR, KS and MO for sure. I think I've also got a TN trip in the works that I will be going on.
My only plan is to use my New White Black Powder Tominator !2 Ga.
DAve...JW
Heading to Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, then back home Pennsylvania. If PA goes well New York or Ohio.
I will be hunting in MN and WI this year.
I have already been doing a little scouting as I drive around Western WI. Grouse season is still open so that is my first priorty until Jan 31st.

I hunt some right across the river ( I live on the Mississippi) it's just 2 miles and I am in MO but I have hunted all the way from down by the AR border at Caney Mountain and as for North as Mercer up by the IA border. I have always loved hunting MO both public and private ground. It seems as I get older you lose one spot due to family members getting old enough to hunt or it trades hands but then it's on to knocking on some doors again..
I'll be hunting here in Virginia and also in West Virginia this spring.
In order
SC
GA
KY
WA
KS
That's the plan at least.
Probably just NY again as usual. I'd like to hit some other states one of these years. I was going to this year, but went on a deer hunting trip this past fall. With me being back in school and just getting done with a big trip, it's kind of out of the question this year.
I am hoping to get my first bird with a bow this year.
Looks like it might be Florida, Kansas, Nebraska, Missouri
Florida would be nice. We'd have someone hunting in the contest early.
WI lottery is in and I will be hunting May 8 to the 14th, no matter what happens at work I will be there for the weekend.
I am starting to get the fever.

It's time for you to lay one down that will take a forklift to get out. ;D
I have seen a couple real nice ones close to where I am hunting, some long beards.
I hope to get another permit or two in WI so I have a couple chances.
I'm hunting Mo, Ok, and Wi. Maybe another state if it works out on the way.
Turkeys just CA. Hoping to limit out for the first time because I just got more access. Big game, most likely AK. Could be Asia somewhere as well
Okay - looks like I might get a crack as some Merriams this yr ~ way cool and then TN, GA?, MI & WI - Wisconsin for me is good for about 4 to 6 tags for sure!
I was 5 for 8 in WI last yr -
JW
Where you going after Merriams? This is probably my last Spring hunt before retirement, then after that Merriams are on my have to get list.
Possibly Wyoming....

I had planned on hitting Western Nebraska next year, but they've had massive fires out there, so will have to think about somewhere else maybe.

Well looks like I might be doing a Texas Rio hunt, before Kansas, if everything works out. Trying to figure out details right now.
It's rolling in on us. March 2nd opens up Florida, and BigSho is hunting Florida, but haven't heard exactly when.
:OGturkeyhead:
For weapons this yr.
I am using a Xbow - then a White Tominator Black Powder, then a CVA Trapper, and then maybe back to ole Mr 11-87!

Looks like Texas isn't going to fly this year, but next year will be a more viable option.
Looks like I am going to FL for sure. Wish I was there now and not buried under a foot of snow. I will be hunting on the opener on March 16th. Hopefully I will get lucky like last year.

You are our lead off hitter. Hopefully, you can get us started with a bang. :icon_thumright:

Pick me up on your way down dog :funnyturkey: Good luck to you buddy..Take lots of pictures...
6 weeks from today, I'm on the road. :you_rock:
63 days and my first season starts
I'll be hunting in about a month. Can't wait! :OGturkeyhead:
Oh boy, only two weeks for the FL opener. I am not even ready! Still sitting under a foot of snow. I gotta get some practice in. Going for another bow slam!

Sounds fun. I really enjoyed my Florida trip a couple of years ago, hunting with Doug. I'm hunting your area in Kansas a lot earlier this year. Sure hope this Winter doesn't drag on much longer.
Wish me luck. Leaving tonight for the opener. Hopefully I can knock one down as quick as last time.
:icon_thumright: Good luck buddy.
:anim_25: Bigsho....
So far a couple of close calls. Had one screaming at me this afternoon. He came into 30 yds and was spitting and drumming for over 45 minutes. Couldnt get him to break and come. Roosted one tonight and will try one more time in the morning. Wish me luck, I may need it since its supposed to rain tonight.
:icon_thumright: GOOD LUCK! :icon_thumright:
Thanks GSLAM. Turned out I got skunked this morning. Dang. Couldnt get anything talking after it rained last night. Really wish I could of had some luck. I was really looking forward to knocking down another Osceola. They are so cool to hunt. The terrain, warm weather, and tricky birds are always a blast. Cant wait to do it again next year. Now, I have to focus on my Kansas birds. Sorry I couldnt get any points on the board yet. Thats why they call it hunting, right?
You hate going that far, and spend that kind of money to get skunked, but that's hunting. Good luck on the rest of your season.

Leave in 3 weeks, and NOW I'm getting excited.
Leaving for Nebraska tomorrow evening to film my nephews for the archery opener. If they tag out early, I will try to get one for myself.
Well, I'm now going to be scrambling in Kansas being my big piece of Private is tied up with other hunters. I'm hoping just on the opening weekend, but don't know right now. That leaves me just Public, which I don't like hunting opening weekend. I'll hunt there on the Friday, and figure out a game plan after that. ::)
I'll be hunting TN starting next Monday for a few days, hope to get us on the board.

Sure hope so. An early bird would be cool, since most of us don't even get out till mid April. Good luck. :icon_thumright:
Well our turkeys in Arkansas are already gobbling and have been for at least a week. Unfortunately we don't open this year until April 20th, which is waaaaayyy late for a southern state. Our population is down and the G&F is trying to suppress harvest until it rebounds.
At least the states around us open on a normal date so I can get after them before they are done.
Got my tags for WI so I will be hunting from May 2nd in MN until May 22nd in WI. I know work will get in the way but I should be out hunting at least 3 or 4 days each week.
Cannot wait until the season opens.
Just over a month away in NY. The snow is mostly gone where I am. Not sure about where we hunt though since they usually get hit a little harder. Thinking about making a run down this weekend and putting out some trail cameras and see whats around.
Just to let you know I start 4/22 and go to 5/31 and have 8 tags with an option for more if I have the energy......
I'll be back with somehting in hand - when I can as computer service will be limited.
JW
Good luck JW. We all know you'll lay down some nice birds. :icon_thumright:
