Title: Helping the turkey population
Post by: captin_hook on December 28, 2012, 01:50:35 PM
A couple of buddies of mine are pretty hardcore trappers. Here's a few nest robbers they got the past week. I think they're over 20 fox so far, over 20 coon, a few skunks and some grinners. they got a fisher too but I don't have a pic of him.

That's awesome. I've never seen a black one before. Could be easily mistaken for a dog.

The black one is definitely not a full-blood coyote,....maybe a coydog,...or just a feral dog,...or somebody's pet that had a real bad day.....

Yeah, they were sceptical to kill the black one. They left it in the trap for a few hours while they contacted the local fur post and a couple other trappers. They determined it was a yote and shot it. It has a black roof of the mouth and yellow eyes. Might be a mix, but for sure not a domesticated dog. Looks like a husky/yote.
