Title: Team Trumpet thumpers 2013, alternate members
Post by: savduck on December 26, 2012, 04:58:14 PM
I would like to see if there is any interest in joining team trumpet thumpers. Our goal last year was to start a team of guys that used trumpets and wingbones to kill turkeys. 70 percent of the team has chimed in with a few unheard from and a few undecided. I think We will probably have a few slots open for new team members.

Right now i would just like to get a few alternates lined up for the team. Closer to time to finalize, Ill fill slots as they are available. We had a great team of guys last year that had a lot of fun. Im pretty bummed the original team may not all be together again, but looking forward to meeting new guys.

I'd be up for it if you end up having an opening. I've mostly used both types of calls for locating birds in the past, but one of my goals for this season is getting a bird into bow range using just a trumpet/wingbone, start to finish. With that goal in mind I've been working on my calling just about daily since the end of last season, and I've acquired several very nice trumpets from call makers on this forum that need to draw blood.

I got ya down TY. There are about 4 spots unaccounted for right now, but its still early, I want to give the original members time to speak up before we fill their spots. ill go ahead and get you down as an alternate. A little bit closer to time if those opening hold we will make it official.

It took me about 3 hour to kill my IA turkey with Ty and it to Robin about 30 minutes to kill a double bearded 1 1/2" spurred turkey with Ty. He's in. LOL

I may be interested if I can get this trumpet playing down.
If not, can I still use my tube calls?
