Title: My new gun
Post by: Thebody on December 15, 2012, 06:55:59 PM
Also my first post on this sight.

I picked this gun up on a trade.  Un-fired 12 guage American Arms O/U with 3inch chamber.  I just started after turkeys about 4 years ago and shot my first two this past season.  My pump was a little noisey around the forearm, so I am going to try and work with this O/U this coming season.  I put  a TruLock 660 on top and 670 on bottom.  I have some different ammo I am wanting to try out to see which patterns best and with which choke.  I still havne't figured out if I should just use the same chokes or not.

American Arms went out of business and this particular model uses Fausti chokes which were kinda hard to find.

Nice gun.  I have two of them.  It should use the AA chokes.

It uses American Arms Chokes, but I had trouble finding them with some of the popular companies.  I called around and the Fausti chokes fit it fine.  I had wanted a Hevishot choke, but they doidn't make one for the gun. I got the non-ported chokes so I could try some Fedeal HW #7's.

First of all, welcome to OG. We're glad that you're here and looking forward to getting to know you better. This is a great site and I know you'll enjoy being here.

That's a good looking gun. In 1996 & 1997 the Fausti American Arms O/U guns were NWTF guns of the year. I know several folks who got them during that time. I believe that George Trulock makes chokes to fit those guns, if you ever want to try something different.

Best of luck to you with your new gun.

Thanks,
Clark

Sweet O/U.  I myself justed started with a ruger red label last year looking to get a turkey.  Have an older 835 which is about 12 years old.  Havent gotten anything with that either.

Good luck.
