Title: Shell Choice
Post by: agturkey on March 02, 2011, 11:06:57 PM
I use to be a tight choke lead red dot man....then for what ever reason went to shooting full choke in a SBEII with Xtended Range 3.5 #5.  Prob killed fourty turkeys with that load....its open so close shots work out and seems to have the energy to kill at a distance...but I have a few questions and concerns.

The new 7 Federal Heavy weight...and heavy weight in general...
Heavyweight is more energy than Xtended Range?

What is the energy of the 7 Heavy weight pellet vs a Xtended Range 5 3.5?

How is the new Federal 7 performing on patterns and is it easy to get?

I stop counting pellets and just worried about killing...the pellet counting game was driving me nuts...now I am thinking about going back to the red dot game but have been real happy with the Tom Knapp fiber optic....so if its working why change I guess...but would like some insight.
