Title: Don't Wait Till Veterans Day To Thank A Vet.
Post by: redarrow on October 25, 2012, 09:34:15 AM
Coming home from hunting last night I stopped to grab a coffee. Saw an old truck with an Army plate. Asked the driver if he was a veteran .When he said yes I told him I would like to shake his hand. He looked surprised. Then this morning I received this in an E mail. Hope you enjoy it. It sure made me proud.

WOW... Very moving piece. Redarrow on be half of all veterans, I say thank you for taking the time to thank us and more importantly remembering the ones who made the ultimate sacrifice. Its amazing how those two little words probably made that mans day so much better. Thank you.

Great post, I called a friend of mine yesterday (vetran of Vietnam 2 tours) that is having a hard time of it. Had his hip replaced, a new valve in his heart, he recently fell during recovery from his surgery cracked his skull and was in a coma for a month plus.
His wife in the mean time has dementia and he can not take care of her anymore so she is in a home and on her last leg.
Now the reason for the long post, when I ask Gary how he is doing his response is always above the grass and improving but never feeling sorry for himself. If you know a vetran call or go see them they do appreciate it!
