Title: Wyoming Elk Hunt
Post by: Strut Buster on October 21, 2012, 04:07:09 PM
Just came back from Medicine Bow National Forest in Wyoming. We had 7 tags and filled 5 of them. We got 4 cows and 1 bull. I was lucky enough to get the bull. A nice 5x5. I was using a Winchester 1885 highwall single shot in .7mm WSM. It did the job nicely with a 160 grain Barnes Triple Shock Bullet. Trip was nice except for the 30 hour drive back home to PA. We skin the elk in the woods and pack them out on horses and put the meat on dry ice on the way home.
