Title: Fat bear!
Post by: barry on October 19, 2012, 06:15:49 PM
My friends son took this bear with his crossbow.
Female that weighed 226 lb. All of her teeth were just about worn to the gum ( wish I had a pic)
She only had one lower front tooth and the canines were either rounded off or broken.
Was really surprised she was so fat with teeth so worn, will be interesting to see how old she was

He made a great shot, she only went 20 yards

AWSOME! :icon_thumright:
Barry, you think a bear biologist could give an estimation of age if you brought them the skull?

Here in VA they pull a tooth at the check station and it goes to game dept for aging. Usually take 4-6 months for results
