I use Thera Band exercise bands on my tubes, best I ever found for my taste anyway.
Here's a link where you can get a 5 ft x 5.5" in piece for less than $5.
This size will make 60 2"x2.25" pieces for me. Plus you can rotate a piece this size and use all 4 sides before discarding, so in effect you can get 240 pieces out of one band.

I use the yellow which is 0.068 thick
White is 0.004
Red is 0.008

MY FAULT! 0.004 has been discontinued since my last order
