Title: Browning A5s are being shipped to dealers now.
Post by: allaboutshooting on August 31, 2012, 12:37:12 PM
I got this from Browning this morning:

"A5s are shipping now. If you ordered an A5 from your dealer a few months ago, you should expect a call soon. Or, better yet, call your dealer right now. Because the hunting seasons are upon us and we know lots of you have been very anxious to get your hands wrapped around a new A5 and bring down some birds."

Thanks,
Clark

They're using a whole new choke system, aren't they?

Yes. It threads at the muzzle end and has a brass ring around the base to better secure the gas skirt against debris and gas blow-by. That choke will also be on some other new models.

Here's the way they describe it:

The new Browning Invector-DS system is the biggest leap forward in choke tube design since interchangeable choke tubes were introduced. Utilizing the proven thin wall configuration along with a muzzle thread concept, Browning has taken shot pattern performance to the next level. Add a brass alloy band at the base of the tube, which seals out gas and grit that migrate between the barrel and tube, and you have the most revolutionary choke tube on the planet.

Features include:

Longer overall length
Flush mount 3 ΒΌ"
Extended 4"
Longer parallel surfaces
Proprietary brass seal
Thin wall construction reduces the flare at the muzzle end of the barrel for a sleeker appearance.
Suggested retail pricing:

Flush mount $39.99
Extended $59.99

Thanks,
Clark
