Title: Fisrt time pattern #'s.
Post by: Seth B on August 18, 2012, 09:29:22 PM
First time doing the pattern thing. Shot 5 times from taped 40 yrds. I got 144, 154, 160, 139, 152, in a 10" circle.
Shoting Benelli nova 20 Ga 24" barrel fed heavy weight #7 with 570 jelly head.
Not sure, but those #'s seem ok ?
The numbers seem ok, but I found my point of aim needs a little work.
Even with a 150 average I only got 6 pellet average in 3" cirlcle which was the point of aim.
Just tought I'd share my #ers.
I'm very new to this and looking for your thoughts or criticisms.
If POA was better are good numbers?

Those numbers are fine. I'm shooting the same gun with an Indian Creek .555 and Nitro 7s and getting 176 in the 10 with 14 in the 3 in.
with the Hevi shot 7s I only got 155 in the 10 in. but 17 in the 3 in.
I'm happy with either.

I wish mine could hold a average like yours. Fix the POA and wear out some birds. Your good.

And just think Doris Bush is getting 30s ( in practice)  in the 3in  @40yd  using H-13 1 1/4 oz. #6s.
