I've always wanted to make a cost style box call. I had no idea where to start or what equipment I needed. Thanks to Scott Tyger who lined me up with what I needed. I ordered a book he suggested but I don't have much patience. So I took a piece of wood I had laying around and started to make one. Several times I wanted to just throw it in the garbage. I finally decided to just finish it. After I put it together I tried it and there was absolutely no sound on the left and barely any sound on the right. I took it inside and put some chalk on it and adjusted the screw and this call came to life. So this is my first ever box call it is a camphor burl box with a walnut lid and a walnut base with walnut inlays. What do you think?

Great call Joe, I have been working on one for about a year, pick it up awhile then put it back down. Going to finish it one day. Great job on your first.
