Got this blank the other day in red aluminite and cactus. Thought I'd try to turn one out of it. Glass over Slate with a black walnut striker. Sounds super nice and not as heavy as I first thought it would be, I am told that this aluminite is stronger then regular poured resin, which would help a lot of us "clumsy" hunters out a bunch, what ya think? Pappy
pappy it looks great .shure it sounds as good as it looks

Sharp lookin call Jack. These cactus calls are starting to get me wantin one!!!
Thanks for the comments, this stuff turns well, you need sharp and polished tools to be safe, I didn't have a single tear out or chip. This blank excited me and I am just as excited about the sound it produces. With the primary glass you get the higher pitched sounds and great volume, with the secondary slate you get those throaty yelps and purrs and the ability to play softly for those close calling situations......what's it worth? Well, the blank was costly, to be honest, but quality comes at a greater price, and these are quality blanks put together by some great fellas....I would not be surprised to see these cover the market with a blanket of excellence....
That looks really nice. Great work, Pappy. :you_rock:
What a beaut!
