Title: FF II ?
Post by: gobblenomore on August 08, 2012, 10:13:54 PM
I 've decided to order a FFII with a protector. I've looked and from what I can see I need a sight, picatenny mount and the protector. Is this correct and any suggestions on the best place to order from.

If you are mounting that on a picatinny or weaver base then you will only need the FFII and the protector mount.  The protector already has a pic mount attached unless you buy one from Gobbler74

I don't know what you are mounting it on but if you have to get a drill and tap, I suggest going with a Marlin 336 base for the FF II....it is very clean looking and mounts with only 2 holes as opposed to 4 with a Pic rail.....And Gobbler74 guards are very nice as well.  I have both....1 with a 336 base and 1 with a pic rail and I very much prefer the 336 base mount over the pic rail.

I agree with mossyoakpro. If you can do the 336 mount it is much lower.
the marlin mount fits many guns. Gobbler74 makes a "homemade" protector.
It use the quotes because it looks anything but homemade.
If your gun has two 8-40 holes .5" apart already drilled you are ready for a 336 mount. do a search and check out the pics.
