Title: Eat Mor Chikin - You bet I will!
Post by: lightsoutcalls on July 27, 2012, 03:04:13 PM
I'm not sure how much coverage the story has gotten on the liberal news networks, but about a week ago Dan Cathy, CEO of Chik Fil A did an interview with a Christian radio host and expressed his views on the definition and value of marriage and the family.  You can read most of the text here:

http://www.christianpost.com/news/chick-fil-a-president-says-gods-judgment-coming-because-of-same-sex-marriage-78485/ (http://www.christianpost.com/news/chick-fil-a-president-says-gods-judgment-coming-because-of-same-sex-marriage-78485/)

The pro-gay supporters are up in arms.  The cities of Boston and Chicago have officially stated they will not allow Chick Fil A stores in their cities as a result.  The shining example of a mayor Rahm Emanuel states that Chick Fil A's values do not reflect those of the city of Chicago. (Interestingly the word Emanuel means "God with us".)

http://theweek.com/article/index/231158/is-rahm-emanuel-bullying-chick-fil-a-over-its-anti-gay-marriage-stance (http://theweek.com/article/index/231158/is-rahm-emanuel-bullying-chick-fil-a-over-its-anti-gay-marriage-stance)

In the same week, Mr Emanuel expresses support for Louis Farrakhan, the leader of the "Nation of Islam" and self-avowed Jew hater and homosexual hater...??? (Sound of needle ripping across phonograph)

Pro-gay organizations, yes, the ones that cry "TOLERANCE" as their battle cry, are sending petitions to Chick Fil A and asking their gay followers to stage a "kiss-in" at Chick Fil A restraunts in protest.

Didn't this used to be America?  You know, that land where it was your right to express your beliefs and values?  Over the years it has become a place where expressing the values that the nation itself was founded on is considered "hate-speech" and the persons expressing them are considered "bigots" and "intolerant".
Gov. Mike Huckabee has asked that those who agree with Mr. Cathy's personal beliefs on marriage show their support by stopping by the closest Chick Fil A restraunt and buying a sandwich and waffle fries on Wednesday August 1st.  I beat him to the punch and went today at lunch.  The parking lot and lobby was packed!  The drive-thru was backed up to the main thoroughfare in front of the store and blocking traffic in one lane of folks trying to get in.  Drive Thru orders were being taken on the right side of the building so they would be ready by the time the folks got to the drive thru on the left side of the building.  The older gentleman that took my order said "I've never seen anything like this."  I told him that I came specifically as a result of Mr. Cathy's comments and in support of his values.  The gentleman said business has exploded this week.

I don't know about you, but I plan to

I eat Chik Fil A about as often as Pro gay supporters eat at the Wiener King, Dinky Dong's and the Y.   I'm not going to their preferred eateries trying to get them to except me because I like members of the opposite sex.  So why do they care what I or Chik Fil A thinks of them?  I hope they don't stage their kiss-in while I'm at  Chik Fil A.  If they do I'll probably stage a "kiss my" at the same time and location!  It would probably get ugly because they tend to be a little on the sensitive side.

Good job Dan Cathy and Chik-Fil-A :icon_thumright:

I for one and proud that he stood up for what we believe as Christians.
I will support them economically and prayerfully as we stand together against this onslaught against traditional, Biblical marriage.

You gotta love the guy for standing up for what he believes in..We don't have any Chik Fil A'a up here, (in fact, I had never even heard of the chain), but I certainly support the place.

Just share one more thing in relation to this issue:
Here is MS we had a State Rep. quote the Biblical reason why homosexuality is wrong and called it sinful.
Within the next day he had folks calling his house from NY area threatening he and his family. They called out his kids names and threatened them and he said that while that person was talking they sounded like a snake.
There is a serious spiritual war going on right now for our families. If you attack the family you crumble everything that a healthy society is built off of.
Let's keep Chik-fil-a in prayer :jesus-cross:

I for one don't care if the gays want to marry. Right or wrong, they'll have to answer for it. I choose not to cast that stone.

On the other hand, the gay community is one of the most intolerant group of SOB's, in my opinion. They shove their lifestyle in our faces every chance they get and doom on you if you have any opinion that they deem negative towards gayness.

I may go find a gay bar, sit in the bed of my truck eating Chick Fil A and sing I love Chick Fil A to the tune of YMCA.

I've never eaten at Chik-Fil-A but my wife and I plan to on our date night next week.  Here's one thing I don't understand... have you notice that the gay folks want to get married and the hetero folks all just want to live together because "we can't afford to get married?"

The Chic-Fil-A in our town is getting bombarded by folks now.  If anything this has probably helped their business overall.  Homosexuals and far left liberals look for any reason whatsoever to protest or have a parade.  It's not like Dan Cathy called homosexuals an abomination, he just simply stated his beliefs of what marriage is and that it is based on biblical scriptures.  I don't care if someone chooses to be gay.  That's their choice, and just like every other individual we will stand judgement one day, but don't try pushing that agenda on everyone for acceptance or approval.  I know some gay folks....nice people, but I'm not going to give them two thumbs up every time I see them.  The leaders of Chicago/Boston, etc....what a joke.  In the meantime I'll get off my soapbox and be eating some fine chicken samiches!!!!

November is gonna be big for the future of our country!!!

The funniest story I ever heard about straight guys and a gay bar was the tale of marines that were on TDY in a town and heard about a lesbian bar.  They went in in civilian clothing and had some drinks and picked out some lesvyterians and sang "You've Lost That Loving Feeling" to them a la Top Gun.

I just hope and pray that all of this brings about the most booming business that Chick-Fill-A has ever experienced.
Should cities not allow J.C. Penny's , Home Depot , etc. to operate because they openly support gays? No is my answer but I do have options of where I prefer to shop in this free enterprise system and glad of it.

Local TV station reporting lines at the local Chic Fil A's extend up to three blocks today.  Looks like this ain't helping the gay right activists.

Anything but "business as usual" would be viewed by the liberal left as intolerance, bigoted or hate filled.

There were a few "rainbow" umbrellas and a handful of protestors in front of our local store.  The real kicker is that traffic was having to be directed in front of the store with a line waiting to get into the parking lot over 2 miles long up the main thoroughfare in front of the store.  ;D

I'm going to have to take a different route home.  I only have 1/2 hour between my day job and evening job, and it is a 12 minute drive in normal traffic.

It will be interesting to see how the media spins it tonight on the news.

After reading both of srtc's replies I'm not sure he realizes Mr. Cathy is the CEO of Chik Fil A and not a pro gay supporter.  If he does I'm a little confused by his comments.

I happen to know the owner of A Chick-fil-a  store - She has one and its on my route - Ive been in the back of many restaurants in my time , but Chick-fil-a's are absolutely spotless , you could about eat off the floor - I mean spotless

The product is good , and healthy - and it sells it self

The people that work for them cooperate level are about the nicest Christian people you will ever meet - The Managers are first class , and they always have the nicest kids working there , its always yes sir, no sir, have a nice day sir - they are all clean cut kids - I talk to them all the time about the business model of the chick-fil- a corporation and it is a solid one indeed  - All the kids that work there pile out of the store to help the delivery driver unload the food freight driver when it showed up , I had the spot hogged up with my UPS truck and gladly handed it off to the supply truck when he showed up , he loves doing their stores and often comments how they are "good christian people"  he said he cant leave the stop without them offering a good meal on the house , I mean these people are NICE PEOPLE if you have ever met  them before - for years I have admired that they are always closed on Sundays and stuck to their guns on the subject

Now , Ive been eating straight Chickfila for about a week know , and let me tell you the business has got crazy now , they have every single employee working , and they are more than happy to do so

There were people taking group family pictures of them holding Chickfila food trays and proud of it - it was something to see

Chick-Fil-A was one of our favorite places to eat before all this stuff happened and is even higher on my list now. Every one of their restaurants we have ever eaten at, has had exceptional customer service along with great food. Every time I go through the line, I'm amazed by how nice the staff is. I'm just so used to getting served by some punk kid at McD's, who obviously doesn't care about his job let alone your food. It's so nice to actually get quality food and service. More restaurants, I mean even nicer sit down places, should take notes from Chick-Fil-A on how to operate.

I love that spicy chicken sandwich and their chicken salad on that toasted wheat bread is freaking amazing. I SUPPORT CHICK-FIL-A 100%!

Last night I worked at my evening pizza delivery job.  The last time I drove by the local Chik Fil A was around 8:30pm.  There were still cars backed up onto the main road/highway (5 lane road) in front of the store.  The drive thru line made a second loop around the parking lot.  The store was packed with people at the tables.  There was still a line of at least 50-70 people waiting to get inside.  (An hour before, I would estimate a minimum of 300 people standing in line outside.)
There were reports on conservative talk radio last night of many stores selling out of food.  Some customers, once they found out they were out of food, decided to patronize the business by purchasing gift cards for future use.  One show host commented that this event was the biggest sign of economic recovery in the past 3 years.  ;D ( http://stevedeace.com/ (http://stevedeace.com/) )  Another show asked people who ate at Chik Fil A to call in and share their experience.  Numerous folks reported happily waiting in line for over 2 hours to be served.  Over and over people talked about how there were no complaints from customers about the wait and an overall happy atmosphere with pleasant conversation amongst customers.  Others mentioned getting to the drive thru window to find out that someone in front of them had paid for their order.  When they tried to pay for the person behind them, they found that the person in front of them paid for the person behind them, so they could pay for the next person back if they chose.  Folks were "paying it forward" 2-3 people deep.  :icon_thumright:  Reports were made that they had set single day sales records at many stores.
When was the last time you heard of something like this happening?    Yeah, that's what I was thinking... never.  Hopefully the left will recognize that decency and morality still exists in the U.S. and not as an exception to the rule.
As I drove by this morning, the drive thru was already about 8 cars deep just before 8 AM.

My wife is out if town, but I took my two boys to eat there after I picked them up from daycare.  I chose the drive thru, and let the boys pass the time watching a movie.  It was a 1 hour & 45 minute wait, but well worth it.  Traffic was wrapped around the building, two directions on side streets, and even in the turning lane on the main street.  About an hour in my oldest asked why the line was so long, and why couldn't we just go eat somewhere else.  Though he's asked a few questions, thanks to tekevision, I am not ready to explain homosexuality to my 7 and 4 year old.  So, I told him the leader of C-F-A said he believed in marriage between a man and woman that is based on God's word in the Bible, and that some people don't believe that way so they said some bad things about his company.  I told him that's why we and all the other people were waiting, to show our support for a company that isn't afraid to proclaim God's word.  "Cool", my 7 year old said as both of them had big smiles on their faces.  Then about 5 minutes he said, "Look how many people love the Bible!!!.  Many downplay or scoff at waiting in line that long as being a waste of time or theorize that this whole deal is a ploy to generate sales (I disagree), but I promise you that my two boys will remember that and why we chose to wait.  And that's plenty enough of a reason for me.

Wife and I enjoyed our "freedom food" last night.  A very upbeat, festive atmosphere.  Super positive experience.  Felt like we were in a holiday block party.

As one radio commentator said, I wonder how many were celebrating "Chicago values" yesterday?

Although I don't have a Chick Fillet close to where I live, it makes me happy to read about all the support you guys are seeing for CF. I can feel some of that good ole American pride starting to seep back into my body. It also reaffirms that all is not lost, and that there is still hope for our future and the future of our children. We need to now pray even harder and more fervently that God will heal our nation. Maybe this is what it will take for Christians to finally take a stand and let the rest of this country know that we are still "One Nation Under God".
                                                 God Bless, Steve    :bible:

I wish we had a Chick Fil A here in Western New York. Never had one. Would support them in a heart beat!
