Barry, "Black Flash"or No-Glow High Output Covert IR image quality is, in my opinion, equal to both Lo-Glow Semi-Covert IR and Standard IR but the more covert cams will cost you more.

Although, I have only used "Black Flash/No Glow" game cams by Reconyx, I'm sure the better name brands produce a product, as far as image quality goes, at least equal to their less covert models.

BUT, again in my opinion, spending more on a completely covert cam isn't necessary for capturing game on film, semi covert is sufficient.

Barry,

I have 2 of the blackout Bushnell's trophy cams, coming in today.  I found an outdoors store on ebay selling them for $50 less, so I jumped on it.  I will give my reviews, just as soon as I get them out.  The deer are hammering my mineral licks right now.

Bushnell is a killer deal for the price. The Bushnell black flash 8 MP HD is nice. I did notice that pics are darker than standard "no black" designs but still reach an easy 40-45 feet. Best part is the deer seem to travel by my cams more often..I chalk it up to "less spooked" Another perk of black flash is helping to not alert two legged predators that have a free trail cam fetish.
