I heard an interesting discussion yesterday on conservative talk radio. Obviously they were addressing the recent shooting issue in CO. They played numerous sound clips of media and political hacks who would love to see our 2nd ammendment rights taken away. The show host clearly expressed condolences for those who lost loved ones in the senseless killings, and openly condemned the actions of the shooter. That said, they opened up the phone lines and asked for comparisons to the phrase:
"Guns kill people"
The idea was to de-bunk this myth, as it is impossible for an inanimate object to act of its own accord. The focus shifted from the "incident" to the "argument". A couple of my favorites were:
"If you find misspelled words on my test, the pencil did it."
and
"Credit cards create debt."
