Title: Federal Heavyweight.

In the 3.5 inch 12 guage turkey shells they only load 1 7/8 oz of shot. Does anyone know why this is and if they plan on upping the payload in the future? Thanks for your time, I figured someone on here would know.

Its because of the wad mainly, and with the right choke you don't need anymore, that shot is
very powerful.

I dont reload but I'd imagine keeping that load at 1300 fps it cant be much heavier. Like anything it can probably be tweaked but these are mass produced and going back and forth on the drawing board takes a little planning I'd imagine. Nice round with plenty of killing ability. Ive taken a few gobblers with those.

the 20ga load is 1-1/2oz's and it's more than enough to take a bird
