Got this wood off the river bank here close and had a good buddy of mine in Virginia had a idea about making a trumpet call holder in the shape of a turkey fan, but not too fancy looking, more rustic. So I took this plank and cut it into 12" long pieces then drew my half circle accross the planks, then drew out the feather shapes and then went to the bandsaw and cut all the pieces out. Then glued them on a couple backing boards and sanded and burned the wood to make it look rustic. There are 13 pieces in the fan with 13 holes for the trumpets....showed it to my buddy and he had a fit......"put it on the site" were his second words...first were.......that is beautiful....what you think?
