Wanted to get some exert openions, what do y'all think is the best turkey hunting blind out there. I'm in the market for a new one and don't want to waste my money. Thanks
well to be honest you can build one for the same price if not cheaper depending on what material you want to use. Portable is the issue there but very cost effective and you can customize it however you want.
Portable is what im looking for. Im lucky in that I have alot of land to hunt, and I need a few blinds I can quickly relocate.
A tent chair works great with kids and very portable
what all qualities you wanting in it? easy set up, archery ability, how many people do you want in it, cost limit ect...ect...
that will prob help narrow it down to a few.
Big enough for two people, usually my wife and two guns, it is mostly her land after all. sometimes my best friend who is 6'2 about 285 and two guns. Would like to keep it under 300 bucks if possible. the easier to set up in the dark the better.
I would say Double Bull. I love my matrix 360, plenty of room for 3 adults. I have spent a lot of time in it with my son. Not sure what models are available now though.

I would get the Dark Horse or The Crusher. They are based on the Matrix 360 model. I don't know the Gun Hunter. You can find them cheaper elsewhere though. I would try ebay number 1 though.
Thanks alot. goin to ebay now.
I would seriously consider the Rhino blinds if I was in the market for another.

X2!!!
Love my darkhorse!!!! Great for hunting those "tough field turkeys" - Turkey Thugs. Easiest birds to hunt if you have a blind IMO.

The roll up ones 30 inchs high .... are what the hunters down here in Florida use - cheap & light and not hot , and hides you better that sticking out like a sore thumb -
double bull matrix 360 :z-guntootsmiley:
I have the Ameristep Tomtaker ground blind. It's cheaper than the double bull, but has served me very well for a few years now. The new Tomtaker2 has windows that go all the way down to the ground.

Thanks, found some on ebay, got a dark horse.. wish I could find a used matrix but those are like unicorns, nowhere to be found... the rhino looked good too. Thanks again.
the Ameristep looked good too. thats what the wife was voting for.
We've got 2 Torrant blinds and they are great, alot of room and they have great viewing windows and for the money you can't beat them, I thing we gave somewhere around $130 for them.
I have 2 Ameristep Doghouse blinds and a Primos Predators Den. Love the Doghouse for solo hunts and the other for when I hunt with a partner.

I too would like to have another Matrix 360 to just put away for when mine bites the dust.
Had a Matrix and sold it and got the darkhorse. You will love those blinds.
I liked my Matrix, but the Dark Horse has a MUCH better window configuration. The larger ports on the back side come in handy if you need to set up facing the sun.....doesn't let nearly the amount of light in as the 180 window does.
If you haven't checked them out yet look at Barronett ground blinds. They have all different sizes and there prices are unbeatable. I got two of them and they are great. I got the grounder 350 it measures 70x70x80 and gander mtn. sells them for 159.00. I got mine at the show for 115.00. The 350 it the biggest. Also on another note and this goes for any ground blind look at the double bull frame pak for carrying you blind. I hate stuffing blinds back in the bag and with this it just buckles around your blind no more fighting the bags.
"Best" is a relative word...I looked and looked and looked before I bought...as I didn't want to waste money...I wanted to buy ONE blind and have it for a long time...
I ended up with the dark horse as well....can't say enough good things about it....it has worked well for me while bowhunting...
Great shooting holes...all around it...
It's quite and very easy to set up....(pratice before you hunt...trust me)
Not that heavy...
All black on the inside for max concealment
I also went the route and purchased the backpack made for this blind...it is made like a very high end backpack...lots of padding and waist belt to even out the load...I can put a TON of stuff in that thing and carry it all day....it even has a spot to carry your bow so it's hands free walking...
hope that helps with your decision :icon_thumright:
I use the Ameristep Doghouse, good blind for hike in hunts since it breaks down and sets up pretty easy, along with ease of getting into the woods with it solo. Kinda tight with two hunters but doable. :you_rock:

Just curious- did you not like the 360 viewing with the matrix? Why did you sell it and buy the dark horse when you can only have 180 viewing? I bought a crusher and should be getting it soon. So i was just wondering why you didnt like your matrix.
