Title: South Dakota?
Post by: jbennett on May 22, 2012, 07:32:42 PM
I'm thinking of taking a trip to South Dakota next spring (from MS). I have never been anywhere close, but by what I've gathered the Black Hills will probably be my best bet. I was hoping that someone could give me a little info on purchasing liscense and/or permits. Like how much they cost and if it is a draw system then what is the likelihood of actually being drawn. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Black Hills tags are unlimited in number...I think they cost like $85.
As a non-resident, you can purchase one tag.
There is no drawing for a Black Hills tag.
The South Dakota Game, Fish, and Parks website will tell you all you want to know.

Is there a license that has to be purchased also?

Just the $85 turkey tag is all you need. You can buy the tag online. Good luck next spring, you'll love it!
