Well, this was a first for me. I have had Turkey hunts ruined by other hunters, Coyotes, Bobcats, Bears, Dogs and even Hot air balloons.
However todays blunder was done by a Moose. After watching a nice Tom fly up into the roost last night all by himself, I told my buddy who I took out this morning, we should be done by 5:30 AM this morning.
Wrong! Shortly after flying out of the roost, the bird was coming on a string and was strutting 70 yds. in front of us. When all of a sudden he came out of strut and started walking the other way. I heard a branch break and looked to my right and here comes a young Moose walking down the skidder trail.
It took us four more hours to find another receptive bird and close the deal. No guarantees in hunting, especially Turkey hunting.

I once called up an elk with my mouth call while spring turkey hunting n TN.
That is a new one for sure, just goes to show that all hunts are very unique.
