Post by: Rockhound on May 10, 2012, 11:40:04 AM
After racking my brain over which choke to buy for lead loads i had fully decided on getting a sumtoy only to call and find out today that they dont make them yet without having to send my gun in :'(

Do they just need the barrel or the whole gun? Would probably be best to send him the whole gun and some shells and let him experiment with it until it was just right.

If you are wanting to shoot lead only, there are two chokes that you should try.  I personally use a Kicks .695 and a Comp N Choke XX Full (.705).  I also shoot number 4 shot (Win XX Mag. (3.5/2.25/4) and Win. HV (3.5/2/4)).  I know 4 shot doesn't look the best on paper but if used within effective range (for me that is 40 yds. as it should be) it will put a serious thumping on a turkey.  If I want to get serious I throw in my Rhino .685 and some Nitro Co. 3 oz. Ni Pb #4s.  I hope this helps.
