i got my FFIII 3MOA the other day and love the changes from FFII. since my season will be over next week i am going to wait to put it on my gun. i have a FFII on a 11-87 that i use. my question is why did you go to the big cover for the FFIII. i like the small cover on the FFII better.
I will bump this to the top and add another question. Will the picatinny protector mount (410330) work on the FFIII ? I would think it should the Burris site says for FF and FFII .
obro, i will check. i have a mount that came off a FFII. i will check to see if the FFIII fits.

I too like the small cover on my FF2, however during the snow it was nice having that see through cover on my FF3. Just wish we had the option for a small cover for the FF3.Lee
I believe that there is some misunderstanding in what was asked and how people are answering the question.
If I remember correctly from past conversations on this very subject the FFII and the FFIII can use the same mounts but the scope proctector that fits the FFII will not fit the FFIII.

yep. you are right. i thought he was talking about mount to gun. i put my new FFIII in the protective cover by itself and just about couldn't get it out. i haven't mounted base to scope yet.

As Schief found out the protector mount will NOT work with the FF or the FFII. The main issue is that we had to move the on/off switch so you would not be able to access the switch with the protector mount.
The cover issue is an unknown to me. We definitely wanted a see through cover but I'm not sure why it had to be so big. I'm not a big fan of it and tossed mine. I can look into a small cover for the FFIII but I have doubts about being able to get anything done on it. The FFIII is just a wee bit longer than the FF or the FFII which makes the cover useless on the FFIII.

answered my question. guess the cover will stick out front and back if you use a protector. i'm going to do like you and just not use mine. thanks. being on up in age i sure like the on-off button. hard for me to see on FFII.
