Title: Gould hunt
Post by: TRKYHTR on May 06, 2012, 10:52:37 PM
here is a Goulds hunt from a friend of mine that has been using my mouth calls for a couple years. Just look at the white on this gobblers back and fan. Then look how big his feet are. An awesome hunt for an awesome turkey. Congrats Jay.

BTW Jay is a big elk guide in AZ. Check out his website Jay Scott outdoors.

Goulds are very beautiful. What's the story on those birds? Why aren't there more around? They require a certain climate to survive?

They live in Mexico. There is a small flock in NM and AZ with just a few tags given out for each. If you want a Goulds you more than likely have to go to Mexico.

I have been killing Turkeys since 1978.

My trip to Durango, MX for a Gould's was the finest turkey hunting trip of my life. (Possibly the best hunt of any kind I have done)..

Wonderful place, the birds are just huge and vivid in coloration. Gobbling fools too. I loved every minute of my Gould's trip and need to go back.

Joe, Thanks for posting that link..... guess it's time for me to open another Gould's trip savings account.

Don't sit on the sidelines folks, a trip to the Mexican Mountains to hunt Gould's lives up to the hype...

TRKHTR,

Nice video thanks for sharing.  I took my Gould in Arizona, it took me 7 years to get drawn, we have about 30+ tags here.  Yes it can be very difficult to get drawn you can better your odds by purchasing bonus points.
