Title: Kick's gobbler thunder choke
Post by: Lamtec on May 05, 2012, 09:01:20 PM
I read this forum frequently, but this is my first post.  This is an excellent site and I enjoy reading the posts.  Today I found a Kick's Gobblin Thunder .655 choke tube for the remington.  Has anyone tried that choke with an 11-87.  I know that many of you use various .665 and .660 choke tubes.  I have an old school 11-87 that I use a .665 Jellyhead.  My wife has just ordered me a new 11-87 Sportsman Supermag Shureshot Turkey shotgun.  I am in process of buying the accessories for it now.  I should have it on Tuesday.

i shoot a kicks .660 in a 870 sm with 21" barrel with win hv #5 with great results. shot the same choke in a 11-87 with 23" barrel years ago and worked great. only bad thing about them is the company says no hevi shot but others do it. when i use hevi i use a different choke. the 655 might be a little tight for #4,5 but maybe 6 would be ok. couldnt say never shot a 655. best of luck to you .

The GT .655 should be great for shooting small shot like 6's and 7's. I shoot Hevi's thru mine, but only the small shot.

One way for sure to know , is to shoot it !!  Clean out the barrel of all oil and residue and then let her rip !

good luck --Shannon

They are a good choke.  Mr Kicklighter was one of the 1st to come up with a choke like this.  95% of the Ported choke out are a spine off of it.   You should be happy with it and go have some fun.

I have tried 3 kKicks chokes with no luck..... I would have continued to try the chokes with different set-ups but I ran into a major problem. I ordered 1 gobbling thunder for my Versa Max and 1 Gobbling Thunger for my A400 Xtreme. I received both chokes timely and without problem. The choke for the A400 Xtreme shot decently but not great. The problem came about with the Versa Max choke. After 3 shots the choke tube became deformed in shape. I only noticed this because I removed the choke after each shot and cleaned the barrell and choke.

I spoke with Chuck about this by phone and he said send it back for a refund. I followed up with an email that he replied "send it back for a refund". I sent the choke back almost 2 months ago and no refund and now he is not willing to respond top my emails and voice messages.

That is my problem with Kicks. I have pruchased many chokes from them and would have continued however this to me is very poor business!!!!!
