Anyone have any unique strategies for dealing with multiple gobblers staying after one hen? It seems logical that one of them would peel off and go after a different hen. However, that was not the case. I had two long beards at full strut for nearly two hours after a single hen. There was a jake that acted like a satellite bull elk. He moved around the two gobblers and hen at a distance of about 100-150 yards. Niether the jake nor the longbeards showed any interest (except for turning their heads to listen).
My buddy killed one in that exact situation on saturday. He moved and stayed with them till a little after nine am. The hen finally slipped away and when they realized she was gone they finally came to some soft calling and leaf scratching. Just have to wait em out, usually.
