Got a call last night from a good friend that had told me he had some birds on his property and if I wanted to go for a morning hunt.....We get out there this morning and the birds are gobbling...Unfornately we had no longbeards but I managed to call in four jakes that were quite a ways out in a field...I didnt want to take a jake but if the opportinity was there I thought I just might..
The jakes almost got into gun range when we noticed them scatter a little and I said to my buddy...."We didnt move" and sure enough out in the field about 200-300 yards I see Mr.Yote heading our way...Suprisingly enough he isnt coming towards the turkeys and he his going to just pass by until I gave him a couple of yelps on the mouthcall and sure enough my friend said.."Perry he is coming" and he can came to within 20 yards straight on to me and I let him have it right in the face....I had to put a second shot in him to finish him off...
Great morning in the woods..
