I have a cheap Pushbutton call.... I can cluck with it decently, but i dont think a purr sounds right.
Do people have decent success with these things? I have looked at box calls but where i have been looking they seem pretty pricy. I am going to another place today to look at some box calls. Any good suggestions? Please keep in mind i am a beginner and know vary little about calls and calling.
The one I have is very similar to this one.

Shannon, the founder and Admin of this site, makes some high end units and posted some video using his in the video/audio subforum. Look those up. His calls and technique sound the best I've heard.
Generally, other calls sound more like turkeys to my ear. Does that determine what a gobbler will respond to? Not necessarily.

X2.. :icon_thumright:
If you use the correct method for calling you can improve the sound of most push pins , hold the pin and pull the box forward for yelps , finger pressure on paddle for louder clucks
I have a few demonstration links , here is one --
look at the way I handle and operate the call and try that with yours , hopes this helps---Shannon
