Title: 1st gobbler with the 20ga
Post by: darron on April 26, 2012, 08:04:56 PM
I have taken a couple hens in the fall with my 20, but never a Tom. This year I built up enough courage to take the 20ga out on Ohio's opener.....I'll be carrying it more often.....

10.5" beard

1.25" spurs

30 yard shot with 870 and SSX #7 fed HW. Bird folded.

Those are some serious hooks! Great bird, congrats! I was like you at first, a bit hesitant about packing the 20. Now, I don't leave home without it!

I had to build up the courage as well. When I shot a bird at a longer range with the 20 it made up my mind.

That's what I would call a paint brush!
What does SSX stand for?
