You only lost 12 percent between 40 and 50.. I cannot see that unless their was some extreme variance in the load contents.

I agree
If you're talking about pellets/ounce, Last year I counted a 2 oz load of H13 Blend and came up with 383 pellets or 192 pellets per oz.
Pretty sure there is a lot of variation in that load. I opened up the 3/2 load and got 426 pellets.

I'd say a lot of varation. I shot the 3" 2 oz of 5,6,and 7's Saturday at 40 yards and got 449 in a thirty inch circle. From looking at the target there is a lot of varation in pellet size in that load.

Now that was 426 individual pellets. Many of the pellets looked like they were 2 fused together. I still counted them as 1. When shot through paper it will be tough to discern between 2 closely riding pellets or one mutant pellet.
A friend told me there was 3/4 oz of each shot size in the 2 1/4 ounce load. Find the # of each pellet in an ounce and do the math. Anyone know pellet count per ounce of Hevi 13?

Last year that may of been true. There were many people getting about the same pattern from the blends as they were the straight 6s. Now it seems like the patterns are getting better and more people are noticing smaller holes in the target.
