I don't know where to post this but I need some advice. Just found out that my 2007 Ford F150 needs a new rings and pistons with only 100k on it. very disappointed. I am thinking of trading it in for a 2010 Tundra. I had a 1995 Tacoma before the ford and it had 305K miles on it before it died. Best truck I ever owned. I tried to switch to something else but now going back to what I can trust. ANY ADVICE...
You need to ask the mechanic what your compression is at , and for each cylinder - if he cant answer that you need to get a second opinion -
There has to be a reason for burnt out rings at 100,000 miles - did it have regular oil changes , or are you the second owner ?
A compression test was done and cylinder #4 failed. I am the second owner and have always changed the oil regulary. As for the previous owner I dont know. Thank you for the advice.
I love my 2010 Tacoma!
