Title: Gobbler # 200 ( More pics added ) Story preview
Post by: bbcustomboxcalls on April 24, 2012, 07:18:24 PM
When I started turkey hunting 32 years ago I never dreamed I would reach this goal.  It took me 3 years to kill my first bird and then things started to click. Anyway turkey hunting is not about the numbers but when you reach this milestone it does make you reflect back on all those great hunts and some that weren't so great. But all were learning experiences.
Here are some pics of bird # 200 & also bird # 201.  #200 wt. 20 lbs - 9" brd. - 1" spurs ,  #201 wt. 18 lbs. - 10 1/2" brd. - 1 1/8" spurs

Someone suggested that I tell stories about some of my hunting experiences.  I have one story I will tell at a later date about a bird that I took early in my turkey hunting carreer.  It involves a kind of death match wrestling event with a gobbler that left him dead without any feathers and
me all scratched and bruised.

As you can see from the photo it had been raining and we were both wet.

Both birds were called in with my copper pot call.

Congrats on an awesome lifetime achievement and i wish you many more. In my opinion, that is a loftier achievement than 200 nice bucks. I hope i live long enough to come anywhere remotely close to that.

CONGRATS on your milestone!

With over 200 birds, that is a lot of great memories and great stories you could tell. You should pick some of your favorite, most interesting, exciting hunts and put them on paper to share with others.

Wow, 200!

I've been hunting them for 25 years and I've taken a grand total of 2. I may very well be the worlds worst turkey hunter
