Title: Gobbler habitat needs vs. hen needs
Post by: LabLuvR on April 24, 2012, 07:04:28 PM
I see a lot of hens around my small farm, but I don't see nearly as many gobblers as one would think with all those dadgum hens. Are their food requirements different?

No but their nesting requirements are  ;D. If you got hens there's toms close by.

If you're in a heavy hunted area the numbers will be off because you don't shoot hens and a portion of the toms get killed every year.

My hunting area is loaded with hens as well but there is always a gobbler or a group of jakes nearby. Be patient and he will show up.
