Title: Nests and more Nests in NC
Post by: irishpride42 on April 23, 2012, 03:51:49 PM
Hunting Saturday, we set up in two different spots and unknown to us were within a few feet of hens on nests.  Didnt know it until they finally bumped off several minutes later, scared us to death!!!!!!!!  Anyhow, snapped a pic each time and got out there so she could come back.

If a hen raises 3 to adult its considered a success. Guy was mowing hay below my house the other day and ran over 2 nests. One had a hen on it and evidently she stood up and he whacked her legs off  :begging:

These nests look as though they should be out of the way of humans. Hopefully the predators will leave them alone.

I've been after gobblers for 18 years now and have yet to find a nest

You must have a low bird numbers if youve never seen a nest.
