Fellas, trying to set up a game plan to get on this mature Tom I have nicknamed "wingspan" here is my question, where the birds pitched down on the 14th was right in front of the blind and I took his buddie with my recurve, went back on the 15th and they pitched down to the left and entered another field headed towards heavy timber, I think it was due to more of the high winds,
Do they normally pitch down in the same area? I they were alittle gun shy to having the decoys out there again on the 15th they have had 11 days to relax and get back into a normal pattern.
Appreciate the help and stay safe
I have always tried to roost turkeys and have came to the belief that they will generally fly back down in the same direction they fly up from. I think they do that because their hens leave them and then they walk off scratching along feeding toward the roost. So the next morning when they fly down they are going fly out back towards where they last saw their hens.
