Title: colorado front range first
Post by: jphunter on April 21, 2012, 01:54:33 PM
So finally did got one on the ground these Colorado bride were a whole new ball game from the easterner I use to hunt. But three days with five birds call in I can 't complain. This old boy took his time and put on a great show gobbling at every thing I had to offer. Strutting around the deeeks spitting and drumming. This was the hardest most fun and rewarding hunt I have had in along time. Logged in three days over 45 miles through rough broken ground 6500 to 9700 feet in elivation.

One thing for sure, that ground sure looks steep!!! :toothy9:

Just kidding, congrats on a great hunt!

I went to CO my self last Spring. Woke up at sea level in MD, hunting that afternoon at 7500 feet in the most incredible country I had ever laid eyes on. Definitely the most challenging hunt of my life and when I put the tag on my gobbler it felt like an incredible accomplishment so I know just how you feel.  Congrats again!

Strutstopper that is a 12gauge browning a -bolt deer / turkey combo. I don't think they produce them any more and I have never seen a simialar gun. It only holds three rounds but very accurate with slugs out to 150. And holds great pattern with turkey loads have had ten plus bbs in target head at 60 yards but I try not to shoot past 30 in the field.
