Anyone know what the thin wood is to put in the bottom in most of the pushbutton callers and where I can get it?
Well, I presume either no one knows what the thin wood on the bottom of most push button calls is or just don't want to expound what it is or how thick it needs to be. I understand why some callmakers that sell them don't want to tell what they use.
Probably cedar. Although other woods could be used to obtain different tomes. As far as thickness most likely 1/8 or 3/16 .
check your PM's
After consideration of what those that have responded here to my question I have found that several different woods including plywood of 3/64 to 1/16 inch thickness glued onto the bottom of an average sized push pin caller with a pedestal of in this case basswood has the pitch that I was looking for.
I appreciate all the input.
Thanks a lot!!
You can get that thin wood at Hobby Lobby.I bought some a while back.Hope this helps.
