Finally got my first NC bird for the year on Wednesday afternoon.
Shot him around 5:30pm. He started gobbling around 4pm. Took a while to get him fired up, kinda had to cat and mouse with him a little, but eventually had him at 35yds at in full strut. Had to cluck at him to get him to lift his head up a little. It was a memorable hunt for sure!
Felt good to call one in and watch him strut in front of me for a while.
Third one killed with the Black Mamba. Might try to shoot the next one with the bow... might.

Heard that. Guys at the club found a big longbeard dead in one of our fields. No tail feathers and one of his breasts was eaten. Either coyote or bobcat, either way they need to die. Someone sees a coyote on our club at least once a week.
