Title: Missouri Double
Post by: I-55Bandit on April 19, 2012, 03:31:41 PM
Great hunt this morning with my buddy that pretty much taught me how to turkey hunt the right way. We have hunted a good amount together and only two birds have died up until this year, and I was not the shooter on either. Pretty nerveracking getting both of us set on two birds that did not want to come out of strut. They came in following 10 hens and 5 jakes. Hunted the opener Monday and had some troubles with trespassers and then got on some birds yesterday at my Uncle's farm. I had one at 75 yards in the woods that would just not commit. This was awesome because this is my best spot but we share permission and he couldn't hunt until today. It is 5 minutes from my other spots but I let it sit and I'm glad I did.
Both birds were 22 lbs 9.75 inch beards and 1.25 in hooks
