The choke says lead shot only, but alot of us on here have shot hevi-shot thru the ventilator for years without issues and is a great combo for some.

I've shot a bunch of hevi through mine.

There was an article somewhere a while back where Rem stated they were labeled that way to keep people from shooting steel shot through them.  When they came out with their own Hevi turkey loads, they stated their older chokes were fine with hevi and went on to say some BS about how anything smaller than .675 gave bad patterns.  That's why they went .675 on their newer HD chokes.

I'd agree with all of that.

Reloader is the guy that turned me on to this choke.  Everything he had to say about this choke has been 100% correct.  I honestly believe it's one of the best kept secrets in the choke tube market.  Easily the best shooting choke that Remington has ever made if they in fact make their own chokes.  I would say that they do since they machine their own rifle barrels.

The ventilator did not do so good in my gun with hevi. It did perform fairly good with Win Sup lead.
