Title: Stoeger M2000 and 870 SM Pattern Numbers
Post by: Extremesolo on April 18, 2012, 12:09:12 PM
Last night I got a chance to shoot my stoeger M2000.  I have been thinking of carrying it this spring and just wanted to verify the pattern.  I have a 24" barrell and am shooting a SSX choke in it.  I only shot it twice, the temps were near 60 and the barrell was not totally cleaned as I have used this gun to waterfowl hunt also.  I did pull the bore snake through it several times before the first shot and also between shots.
3" Hevi-13 2 oz. #7 - 230 in 10" at a lasered 40 yards
3" Hevi-13 2 oz. #6 - 173 in 10" at 40
Patterns were even and the trigger on this gun is the best shotgun trigger I have ever pulled.  Looks like I may be spending some quality time with it starting next weekend.

I also shot my 28" 870 SM with old remington 3.5" 1 7/8 oz. hevi #4 through a .665 JH
122 in 10" at 40 yards.  That is not too bad either so I may carry it some as well.  So many choices so little time/tags.

Either way is say your great there. To bad you didn't try the same loads in both guns just to see.
