I'm taking my boys out this weekend to a spot we regularly see upwards of 40-50 birds in the same spot almost every day.My question is if they both shoot one on saturday & sunday, would it be ok for me to go back to the same spot(not the exact spot, but in the immediate area) 3 or 4 days later when the regular season starts? Thanks!!
I'm sure every situation is different but I hunt a place that sounds much like the one you described...I took a tom on opening day and have been back scouting from a distance with binocs several times since (Opening day was April 11) and I have yet to see another tom there. I did see a group of about a dozen birds total that have moved across the road to a neighboring property...I'm sure it is same bunch because they weren't over there before.
Opening day took a bird in the morning at 7.30 am,that afternoon took another bird less than 75 yards away at 2.30 pm.Think you will be fine.
I would go back. With that many turkey being seen there is more than one gobbler there. Good luck
Yep. I've killed multiple gobblers in the same spot over the course of a season. Go for it ! :icon_thumright:
Thanks for the replies fellas!
I would go back also. I killed both my birds this season in the same spot, 2 days apart. I thought there were only 2 gobblers in the area but when i shot my second bird 4 long beards came in together.
Good Luck,
I would say you will be fine. They will be back.
