need a good box call, any suggestions?
Most of the old classic store-bought calls from the 1990s that I started hunting turkeys with are no longer made (sigh) but there's one "oldie-but-a-goodie" you can still find that's still one of the best of the production box calls: the Lynch Box.
I'd recommend a Lynch Foolproof or World Champion to anyone. They're super easy to use and have a good, realistic tone.
Halloran Purple Heart and Cedar. Also his mini long box. Awesome calls.
For a production call its hard to go wrong with a Lynch Fool Proof. My brother pretty much uses that call exclusively and has killed a whole bunch of gobblers with it over the last 30+ years.
Jerry Zebro short box, for a gibson go with WillowRidgeCalls, both sound great and are reasonably priced. Scoot
I'm not sure if David mills is still making them but he did a cedar/purple heart short box for me that sounds great.
If you want production, lynch is probably the route I'd go.
Don't overlook Dale Rohm boxes, they are all turkey. Still can be had at Midwest turkey calls.

Rohm's 2001 NWTF sponsor call (black walnut halfmoon) is a screamer!

I was fortunate enough to meet Mr. Rohm and his lovely wife at the convention. Great people and very personable. :icon_thumright:
